Comedians are creative beings in one way or the other and most of them tried several things in their respective careers that include radio presenting or radio djing. Here are five comedians who used to be on the airwaves cracking the mind, though they still crack the mic on comedy stage that includes Tumi Morake, Trevor Noah, Celeste Ntuli, Trevor Gumbi and Nina Hastie.
Tumi Morake used to be on CliffCentral, she later joined and resigned from Jacaranda FM as a breakfast co-host with Martin Bester. A year ago she joined Motsweding FM, a Tshwana speaking radio station as a co-host of a morning show with Amon Mokoena. Trevor Noah used to host a graveyard shift weekend show on YFM, back in the days just before he started doing comedy. Trevor left radio to focus on comedy, tv and acting.
Celeste Ntuli used to host a show on commuters driven radio station Massiv Metro, a recently launched startup online radio station by Dj Sbu and his business partners. She’s now a full time stand up comedian and actor. Lastly, Nina Hastie and Trevor Gumbi used to co-host a comedy show on CliffCentral, then later Nina left to join startup online radio station Touch HD until she resigned 2 years ago from the station. Now, both Nina and Gumbi are full-time comedians.
