The Roast Battle Round 3 will feature JASON GOLIATH, MARK BANKS, DEEP FRIED MAN, MOJAK LEHOKO, TUMI MORAKE & SCHALK BEZUIDENHOUT as the roastee.
Epic comedy battles are about to kick off in the latest gladiatorial instalment of Comedy Central Roast Battle (28 July 2016) as six more comedians prepare fight to the death armed with killer insults, deadly one-liners and wounding witticisms.
Comedy Central’s Roast Battle will be recorded in front of a live audience at Parker’s Comedy & Jive, Montecasino, Johannesburg on Thursday 28 July.
Sparing partners locking horns in the next round of the series are Jason Goliath vs Mark Bank, Deep Fried Man vs Mojak Lehoko, and Tumi Morake vs Schalk Bezuidenhout.
Each comedy duo will battle it out before competing in a 3-way “Roast-off” at the end of the evening, in front of host John Vlismas, a celebrity judge and a comedy industry insider. The evening’s winner will join previous winners Richlieu Beaunoir and Dillon Oliphant and other finalists at the Roast Battle grand final later in 2016.
Commented Evert van der Veer, Vice President, Comedy Central, Africa, “The Roast Battle is a great spectator sport – brings out the dark, cut-throat underbelly of innocent-looking comedians, and stripping away the humourous façade to reveal an almost diabolical determination to annihilate their fellow comedians. I can’t guarantee if any of them will be speaking to each other after this next Battle, but I can promise that the audience will be laughing its socks off…”
Tickets for the show are available from Computicket, or on the door at Parker’s on 28 July. Tickets priced ZAR 150. Doors open at 18:00 CAT. Over 18s only.
Roast Battle will premiere exclusively on Comedy Central (DStv channel 122) later in the year.
