Stop Letting Problems Push You – Let Your Dream Drive You
Let me go on and tell you something I wish somebody had pulled me to the side and said when I was younger: Stop letting your problems dictate your direction. That ain’t where your breakthrough lives. Your breakthrough? It’s sittin’ over there with your dream. Now I know what you’re thinking—“Steve, how can I focus on a dream when my lights about to get cut off?” Let me break this down for you.
See, problems are loud. They scream. They show up at your door uninvited. They throw you off your plan. But dreams? Dreams whisper. They don’t chase you. You gotta chase them. Dreams show up when the world is quiet—when you’re alone, when you’re thinking, when you’re praying. That’s the difference. Problems push, dreams pull.
And baby, let me tell you, it’s a whole lot better being pulled by something you believe in than being pushed around by something you’re scared of.
I remember sleeping in my car, broke as a joke, and no real plan B. I had every reason to quit. But I kept holding on to this dream. This vision I had of being on stage, making people laugh, changing lives with my words. I could’ve let my problems define me—but I let my dream drive me.
You see, being pushed by your problems will have you running in circles. You solving one issue just for another one to show up tomorrow. It becomes survival. But when you’re driven by your dream, you step into purpose. And purpose? Man, that’s where the real fire is.
Listen to me. Your dream was planted in you by God for a reason. It’s your GPS. It don’t matter if the road is bumpy or the signal gets lost sometimes—the destination don’t change. Problems are temporary. Dreams are divine.
So the question is, what are you following? Are you letting problems push you from one job to another, one relationship to another, one mistake to another? Or are you being driven—laser-focused—by that dream God whispered into your soul?
Stop living reactive. Start living intentional. You can either wake up every day dodging problems, or wake up and chase that dream like your life depends on it—because it does.
And let me leave you with this: Every time you choose your dream over your doubt, you’re building your legacy. You’re planting seeds.
You’re showing your children, your family, your community what it looks like to lead with faith. Problems may be part of your story, but they don’t get to write your ending.
That’s for your dream to do. Stay driven, stay faithful, and keep grinding. Because that dream of yours? It’s real.
And it’s waiting on you.
