Stand-up comedian Celeste Ntuli is upbeat that she will have the audience at the Essence Festival in New Orleans in stitches.
Ntuli is one of four South Africans who will be flying the country’s flag high at the festival which celebrates black culture. The festival is set to be held in the United States in July.
Speaking on POWER Breakfast, Ntuli vows to represent South African well.
“This will be the fourth time going overseas to perform. I get these, I would say, exceptional gigs because I went to Scotland for the Commonwealth Games and I was also in America in 2017 to perform.
“My material relates to everyone. I don’t particularly talk about something that happens to Zulus or South Africans. I think I am going at a good time. As a comedian, I talk about black women issues and I know that Essence Festival is all about that,” Ntuli says.
Local music artists Amanda Black and Nasty C and Tellaman will also be performing at the prestigious event.
