In regards to sneakers that are tied to epic moments in Michael Jordan’s career, there are too many count. But the Pro Leather is most certainly the starting point, because it’s the shoe that MJ himself believed he was coming into his own. To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the UNC’s 1982 NCAA title as well as last year’s Championship run, Tinker Hatfield and Dan Sunwoo (who just put together the Air Jordan 3 “Seoul”) have created a special Converse Pro Leather that signifies the birth of “Michael Jordan”, the greatest player of all-time.
Replacing the traditional chevron star logo is a Jumpman in Tar Heel blue, while heel detailing represents the team uniforms from the championship years of 1982 and 2017. These shoes, which MJ adored in college, were made exclusively for friends and family within Jordan Brand as well as the current UNC Tar Heels basketball team.
