Jordan Brand is looking to make a splash in 2018 with Russell Westbrook after handing the reigning NBA MVP a 10-year contract extension. After the deal was announced, Jordan Brand announced that Westbrook would be getting his own on-court signature shoe to add to his off-court line.
Earlier this month, Nike confirmed that we would indeed be getting a Russell Westbrook signature sneaker, and now we get a look at what the shoe may look like. The recently unveiled model is called the Jordan Fly Next and features Westbrook’s “Why Not?” catchphrase on the tongue, his logo on the strap, and emblem on the insole.
While it’s unclear if this is actually Westbrook’s own sneaker or just a team model that’s strongly affiliated with him, this is clearly a sign that Jordan Brand is going all-in with having Westbrook as the face of the company. While there are no release details, we will certainly be getting more information soon as we enter the New Year.
