“Nike is bringing the gold treatment to a whole host of other Air Max running sneakers including the Air Max Zero, Tinker Hatfield’s first—and rejected—design for the Air Max 1. It’s now a modern classic rather than the historical icon it could have been, building all of its structure through mesh, neoprene, and hyperfuse paneling. Like the 97, it’s all gold, but the hyperfuse lets some of the gold take on a bolder metallic finish. Once again, there’s a white midsole, air bubble looking into more gold, and black lining.”
