Born A Crime, authored by South African comedian Trevor Noah, has been received tremendously well in America!
It seems that the USA is in love with our Noah. Following his success as the new host of American comedy news show The Daily Show – a role he took over in 2015 – just a year later, his new book, Born A Crime, is being well received in the USA.
The book made it onto the New York Times bestseller list, just weeks after it had been released.
True to his comedic sixth sense, Noah thanked the paper in what some would call a weird way.
“I’m beyond excited to have my first book “Born A Crime”‘on the failing @nytimes bestseller list. I never imagined this was possible. Sad!”, he wrote on his Twitter.
“His stories weave together to form a moving and searingly funny portrait of a lovable delinquent making his way through a damaged world in a dangerous time, armed with only a keen sense of humour and a mother’s unconventional, unconditional love.”
Earlier this year, announcing the publication of the book, Noah said: “I couldn’t find a good book about myself so I decided to write one. And just like me, this book doesn’t have an appendix.”
In recent years, comedians like Tina Fey and Mindy Kaling have released books that have gone on to do very well, so Noah seems to be on the right track.
