ASICS has most recently been known for its range of Gel-Lyte III and Gel-Lyte V collaborations, but with the seemingly never-ending onslaught of Gel-Lyte colorways dropping, they’ve taken a step back with the unveiling of a new collaboration with mita sneakers on the GT-II model.
The most distinctive feature of the collaborative effort is the brown shaggy suede upper, where a light chestnut color pervades the toebox and a dark hazelnut color wraps around the rear of the sneaker. Splashes of red and blue can be found on the medial side’s tiger stripes, while the lateral side features dark brown tiger stripes blending in with the suede.
You can always count on Japanese sneaker store Mita to concept some wild collaborations, and its latest GT-II with Asics is right in line with that history.
Super hairy suedes perfectly reflect the squirrel-inspired pair of shoes —that’s right, the bushy tailed rodents are where Mita looked for design cues. Whether that makes it or ruins it for you, you’ll never see anything like this again.
The mita x ASICS GT-II was released on October 15 at mita’s official site.
