The annual Savanna Comics Choice Awards announced the nominees for this year’s tenth Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards at the prestigious event at one of the swanky hotel, Radisson Red, Rosebank, Johannesburg. It’s great to see some of the comedians who started their comedy careers in front of us being nominated in this year’s awards show. 

This year the Hall of Famer, nominated by the comedy industry, and voted for by the comedy industry will be given to the Joburg born and now Cape Town based, comedy legend Alan Committie. 

The awards set the tone for South African comedy to emerge and try to recover from covid pandemic which crippled comedy industry across the world, hopefully will start seeing more comedy events in South Africa and the rest of the African continent. 

The main event is set to take place on the 15 April on Saturday at 17:30 – Sun Apr 16, 00:30 at the new location, The Galleria, M1 Place in Marlboro, Sandton.
