Sifiso Nene is a stand-up comedian who jump started his career in KwaZulu-Natal, after winning the first title of ‘So You Think You are Funny’ in 2009. Following his win, Nene has made numerous appearances in various comedy shows across the country. The comedian has also been featured in some television appearances like David Kau’s comedy film Taxi Ride (2012).
Nene has also hit the corporate market as an MC and presenter. On the #WeekendBreakfast show, Nene spoke about comedy as a serious art form, and how his upbringing influenced his ability to make people LOL. I was based in Durban and like everyone else, I saw a television advert talking about a new show that’s looking for an up-and-coming South African comedian says Nene.

I was doing comedy at that time but on a small scale adds Nene. He says that when the opportunity to be part of ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ came by, he wanted to try it out to see how far it goes.
I was quiet at school and observant. I didn’t know I was a comedian even back then because your job as a comedian is to be observant, so you can learn and incorporate that into your comedy – Sifiso Nene.
